# Peach Blossom Granny Square Baby Blanket Free Crochet Pattern
There’s a special kind of softness to a blanket made for a brand-new baby, and this one has it in every square. Each granny square blooms with a little peach flower at its center — twelve tiny petals — framed in creamy white. When all twenty-five squares come together, it looks like a garden of blossoms, and I honestly can’t stop smoothing it out just to look at it.
The flower centers are simpler than they look (just chains and double crochets), and the squares join up quickly. This is my go-to baby shower gift now, because it looks impressive but the rhythm of it is pure comfort crocheting.

- Worsted weight (#4) yarn: approx. 700 yds peach, 500 yds cream

The Pattern
Blossom Squares (make 25)
Each square measures about 6 inches.

Round 1 (peach): Magic ring, ch 3 (counts as DC), 11 DC into ring, join. (12 DC)
Round 2 (peach) — petals: [Ch 2, 2 DC in next st, ch 2, sl st in same st] 12 times — one petal in each stitch. Join and fasten off peach. (12 petals)
Round 3 (cream) — squaring: Join cream with sl st in any ch-2 space between petals. Ch 3 (counts as DC), 2 DC in same space, ch 2, 3 DC in same space (corner made), *[3 DC in next space] twice, (3 DC, ch 2, 3 DC) in next space (corner)* 3 times, [3 DC in next space] twice, join. (48 DC, 4 ch-2 corners)
Round 4 (peach): Sl st into corner, ch 3, (2 DC, ch 2, 3 DC) in corner, ch 1, [3 DC in next space, ch 1] twice, [(3 DC, ch 2, 3 DC) in next corner, ch 1, [3 DC in next space, ch 1] twice] 3 times, join. Fasten off. (60 DC)
Weave in ends and lightly block each square.
Joining and Border
Arrange squares 5 across x 5 down. Join with cream using whipstitch through the back loops, or a flat SC join.
**Border
Round 1 (cream):** Join in any corner, ch 1, SC evenly around working 3 SC in each corner, join.
**Border
Round 2 (peach):** Ch 1, SC in each st around with 3 SC in corners, join.
**Border
Round 3 (cream):** Ch 1, [skip 2 sts, 5 DC in next st, skip 2 sts, SC in next st] around, join. Fasten off and weave in all ends.
Sophie’s Tips
- Keep your petals in Round 2 relaxed — if they’re too tight, the square will cup. A slightly loose hand makes the flower lie flat.
- Count your corner spaces in Round 3 carefully; the square shape depends on those four corners landing evenly (every third space).
- For a larger throw, just make 36 squares (6 x 6) — the pattern scales perfectly.
Soft as a petal and twice as sweet — happy stitching!
