# Autumn Leaf Cutlery Pouch Free Pattern

Autumn leaf cutlery pouch with cream brown and green

This one is for my fellow Thanksgiving hosts! These sweet little cutlery pouches dress up each place setting with a striped autumn leaf design — cream, brown, and green, with a pointed leaf tip and a rustic twine bow. They’re quick to make (perfect for a whole dinner party’s worth), and guests always notice them. Your table deserves to look this pretty!

What You’ll Need

Yarn: Worsted weight (#4) — Main color (A) cream: 50 yards; Accent 1 (B) brown: 5 yards; Accent 2 (C) green: 5 yards. This pouch is a great scrap-buster!

Hook: US G/6 (4.0 mm)

Notions: Yarn needle for weaving in ends, and about 20 inches of twine or thin jute cord for the bow.

Skill level: Intermediate

Gauge: 4″ x 4″ = 15 sc x 15 rows (worked in back loops only). Take a moment to check your gauge — it keeps your pouches a nice even size.

Pattern Notes

  • This pattern is written in US terms.
  • Rounds are joined at the end of each round and chains do not count as stitches.
  • The stitch count stays at 30 stitches throughout — nice and simple.
  • Work most stitches through the back loop only (BLO) for that lovely ribbed texture, unless a row says otherwise.
  • Each round is joined with a slip stitch — work the slip stitch in BOTH loops, then start the next round in the back loop.

Fasten off and weave in all the ends.

Finishing

Lay the pouch flat so the point of the leaf design is centered at the front. Wrap your 20 inches of twine around the pouch a couple of times, tie it in a bow at the front, and trim the ends at an angle. Tuck in your fork, knife, and spoon — and set the table!

Sophie’s Tips

  • Making these for a crowd? Assembly-line them — do all the cream rounds on every pouch first, then the brown, then the green. So much faster!
  • Swap the green for mustard or rust to match your table decor.
  • A little sprig of dried wheat tucked into the twine bow looks absolutely adorable. 🌾

Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃
