# DIY Cozy Pumpkin Patch Hat Free Crochet Pattern
If fall had an official hat, I think this would be it! This cozy pumpkin patch hat is covered in rows of bobble stitches that look just like tiny pumpkins popping off a snowy-white background, with a warm ribbed brim and a big playful pom pom on top. It’s worked from the bottom up, and it comes in toddler, child, and adult sizes — so the whole family can match at the pumpkin patch.
Fair warning: those little bobble pumpkins are seriously addictive to make.

- Crochet hooks: I-9 / 5.5 mm (hat) and H-8 / 5 mm (ribbed brim)

Adding the Pom Pom
1. Wind the yarn around both arches of your pom pom maker.
2. Cut the yarn along the middle gap.
3. Tie with a piece of scrap yarn.
4. Open the arches and remove the pom pom.
5. Trim any loose ends.
Attach the pom pom to the top of your hat, then weave in all ends. All done!
Sophie’s Tips
- Count your brim rows twice before joining — everything else builds on that number (76 / 80 / 86).
- Carry the green yarn loosely up the inside when you switch colors for the pumpkin rounds; it saves a forest of ends to weave in.
- A sage or mossy green pom pom looks adorable against the white hat — or go classic orange!
