# Mrs. Claus’ Winter Dress Free Crochet Pattern

Turn your little one into Mrs. Claus herself with this festive winter dress! I picture it every time: cherry-red skirt, fluffy white trim like fresh snow on a rooftop, a smart little belt — and the jolliest toddler at the holiday party, handing out cookies like she owns the North Pole.
It is made from worsted yarn of around 200 yards, a 5.00 mm crochet hook, two buttons, and yarn needles — a true stash-friendly weekend project with maximum twirl factor.
What You’ll Need
- Worsted-weight yarn in Christmas red (around 200 yards), white (about 60 yards), plus small amounts of black and gold for the belt
- 5.00 mm crochet hook
- Two buttons
- Yarn needle
Finished size: Chest 21″, length 20″ (toddler size 2T).

Neckline and Buttons
Join white yarn at the back neckline. Ch 1, sc in each of the 60 sts around, join. Fasten off. Sew the two buttons at the back neckline, evenly spaced.
Mrs. Claus Belt
With black, chain 70. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across. (69 sc) Work 3 rows of sc. Fasten off. With gold, make the buckle: chain 10, join into a ring, sc 2 rounds around the ring. Sew the buckle to the middle of the belt, then tack the belt around the dress waistline with the yarn needle.

Sophie’s Tips
- The white shell hem is the star — work it in a slightly fuzzy yarn if you have one, and it looks like real fur trim.
- Try the dress on before Round 31 so the skirt length lands right where you want it; add or skip plain rounds in Rounds 18–30.
- The belt is removable, so the dress doubles as a plain red party dress all winter long.
Cookies for everyone — Mrs. Claus has arrived!
