• Size G-6 (4.0 mm) crochet hook
• Tapestry needle
• 1 inch elastic for the shorts waistband (approx. 30 inches)

• Adult S–M: top bust 34 inches, shorts waist 28 inches (elastic)

The Pattern

Ruffled Crop Top

Ch 80. Join to work in the round.

Rounds 1–8: Ch 2, DC in each stitch around, join. (80 DC)

Round 9 (ruffle): Ch 2, work 2 DC in each stitch around, join. (160 DC)

Rounds 10–11: Ch 2, DC in each stitch around, join. (160 DC)

Round 12: Ch 1, SC in each stitch around, join. Fasten off.

Straps (make 2): Ch 40. SC in each chain. Fasten off. Sew to the top front and back.

Ruffled Shorts

Ch 90. Join to work in the round.

Rounds 1–4: Ch 2, DC in each stitch around, join. (90 DC)

Waistband: Fold the top round down and sew, leaving a gap to thread the elastic. Thread the elastic, sew the ends together, and close the gap.

Leg divide: Ch 2, DC in the next 45, skip to the opposite side and join (forming two leg openings of 45 stitches each).

Each leg (ruffle): Ch 2, work 2 DC in each stitch around, join. (90 DC per leg) Work 2 more rounds of DC. Final round: SC in each stitch. Fasten off.
