# DIY Crochet Christmas Tree Free Pattern

Every year I say I’m going to keep the decorating simple, and every year I end up with tinsel in my hair and a new handmade something on the mantel. This little crochet Christmas tree is my favorite kind of project: quick, adorable, and it looks like you spent way more time on it than you did.

It’s a classic cone-style tree worked in the round from the top down — all simple stitches — then dressed up with tiny crochet ornaments, a little bead garland, and a star on top. Make one for the mantel, or make a whole forest in different sizes. I won’t judge. (I made six.)

The Pattern Idea

Tabletop Crochet Christmas Tree

This cheerful little tree is worked in continuous rounds starting from the tip, increasing steadily to form the classic cone shape. The textured stitch pattern gives it that lovely pine-branch look without any complicated techniques — just single and double crochet doing all the heavy lifting.

Once the tree body is done and lightly stuffed so it stands up straight on its own, the fun part begins: decorating! Add tiny crochet baubles in red, gold, and cream, wind a strand of wooden beads around it as garland, and top it with a little golden star. A small clay pot or a crocheted pot cover makes the perfect base.

*Finished size: about 10 inches tall and 6 inches wide at the base — the perfect tabletop size.*

Want to make a whole set? Just stop increasing a few rounds earlier for a baby tree, or add extra increase rounds for a grand one. A trio of trees in different heights grouped together looks absolutely precious on a side table or as a centerpiece.

Sophie’s Tips

  • Stuff the tree firmly as you go — a well-stuffed tree stands tall and proud instead of leaning like it’s had too much eggnog.
  • Use a slightly smaller hook than your yarn calls for so the stuffing doesn’t peek through the stitches.
  • No wooden beads? A simple chain stitch garland in gold yarn looks just as festive wound around the tree.

Go deck your halls — one tiny tree at a time!
