What You’ll Need
- Worsted-weight cotton yarn in cream (approx. 400 yards)
- Size H-8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Tapestry needle

- Approximately 10 inches wide and 9 inches tall, not including strap
The Pattern
Purse Body
Ch 36.
Row 1: SC in the 2nd chain from the hook and in each chain across, Ch 1, turn. (35 SC)
Rows 2–30: SC in each stitch across, Ch 1, turn. (35 SC)
Fold in half and slip stitch the sides. Turn right-side out.
Top Edge
Join cream at the top. Work 3 rounds of SC around the opening.
Flap: Ch 30. Work 12 rows of SC. Sew to the back top edge.
Tassels (make 5)
Cut 10 strands of cream yarn, each 6 inches long. Fold in half. Wrap the top 1 inch with yarn to form the tassel head. Trim the bottom evenly.
Attach 3 tassels to the flap edge and 2 to the sides.
Strap
Ch 100. SC back. Sew to the sides with reinforced stitching.
Weave in all ends.
