# Purple Amigurumi Spider Free Crochet Pattern

You know what spiders need? More purple. This little chunky cutie is about to become your favorite Halloween make — she’s soft, squishy, works up in an evening, and that fuzzy purple blanket yarn makes her look like a plush toy straight off a boutique shelf.
The head and body are crocheted as one single piece (my favorite kind of pattern — fewer ends to weave in!), the legs are flexible pipe-cleaner legs you wrap in yarn, and the best part: you get to decide her personality. Sweet smile? Sassy fangs? Totally your call. She’s cute in literally any color, but that Pow Purple is *chef’s kiss*.

Legs (make 4 for 8 legs — each pipe cleaner is 2 legs)

Take a pipe cleaner and wrap purple yarn snugly around it from one end to the other, covering it completely. Bend it into a gentle upside-down V with a little “knee” in the middle — two legs in one! Repeat with the remaining three pipe cleaners so you have four V-shaped leg pairs.
Assembly
1. Eyes: Attach the safety eyes to the front of the body, about 5 stitches apart. (If this is for a little one under 3, embroider the eyes instead — safety first, cuties second!)
2. Legs: Sew the four leg pairs to the bottom of the body, two on each side, spacing them evenly. Leave long tails when you wrap them so you have built-in sewing yarn.
3. Face: Thread your embroidery needle with black embroidery thread. Sew a tiny smile, and if you’re feeling spicy, add two little fangs — a couple of short straight stitches angled downward. That’s the whole personality right there!
Tips From Sophie
- Wrap tight: Keep the yarn snug around the pipe cleaners so no metal peeks through. If a spot shows, just wrap a little extra yarn over it.
- Bendable fun: Because the legs have pipe cleaners inside, you can pose her — climbing a pumpkin, dangling from a shelf, doing spider yoga. Endless photo ops!
- Color chaos encouraged: This spider looks adorable in literally any shade. Black and orange for Halloween, pink for a not-scary-at-all version, rainbow for maximum joy.
- Fur yarn alternative: Any super bulky chenille or blanket yarn works — the squishier, the better.
Happy hooking! Whether yours gets a sweet smile or full vampire fangs, I hope she crawls straight into your heart. 💜
