# Mint Daisy Meadow Dress Free Crochet Pattern

If spring had a dress, I’m fairly sure it would be this one. A soft mint dress with a raglan yoke, an openwork daisy-chain skirt, and the sweetest little 3D daisies scattered around the hem and yoke like they just blew in on a breeze. It’s the dress I picture for Easter photos, first birthdays, and every twirl in between.

The construction is a classic top-down raglan, which means no seaming and — my favorite part — you can try it on the lucky little recipient as you go. The skirt’s openwork stitch looks intricate but it’s just a simple repeat, and the daisies are quick little motifs you can make in front of the TV. One evening for the yoke, a couple more for the skirt, and a happy afternoon of daisy-making.

The Pattern

Yoke (Top-Down Raglan)

Ch 80. Join with a sl st to form a ring, being careful not to twist.

Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next 8 sts, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next st (corner 1), dc in next 18 sts, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next st (corner 2), dc in next 18 sts, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next st (corner 3), dc in next 18 sts, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next st (corner 4), dc in next 9 sts. Join with sl st to top of ch-3. (80 sts)

Rnds 2–8: Ch 3, dc in each st around, working (dc, ch 2, dc) in each corner ch-2 space. Join with sl st. Each round adds 8 sts: 88, 96, 104, 112, 120, 128, 136 sts. Each panel (front, back, sleeves) now measures 32 sts.

Divide for Sleeves

Rnd 9: Ch 3, dc across the front panel (32 sts), ch 8 for the underarm bridge, skip the sleeve panel and both corner sts (34 sts), dc across the back panel (32 sts), ch 8, skip the remaining sleeve panel and corner sts (34 sts). Join with sl st. (80 sts)

Rnds 10–14: Ch 3, dc in each st and each ch around. Join. (80 sts)

Skirt

Rnd 15 (increase): Ch 3, (dc in next 7 sts, 2 dc in next st) 10 times around. Join. (90 sts)

Rnds 16–18: Ch 3, dc in each st around. Join. (90 sts)

Rnd 19 (daisy-chain openwork): Ch 3, (dc in next 3 sts, ch 2, sk 2 sts) 18 times around. Join.

Rnds 20–33: Ch 3, (dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in ch-2 sp) around on even rounds; on odd rounds work (dc in next 3 sts, ch 2, sk 2 sts) as in Rnd 19 to keep the openwork. Join. (90 sts)

Rnd 34: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join. (90 sts)

Rnd 35 (scallop hem): (Sk 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, sk 2 sts, sl st in next st) 15 times around. Join. Fasten off.

Sleeve Edging

Join mint yarn at an underarm.

Rnd 1: sc evenly around the sleeve opening (approximately 34 sts).

Rnd 2: (sk 2, 5 dc in next, sk 2, sl st) around for a tiny scallop. Fasten off. Repeat for the second sleeve.

Neckline

Join mint yarn at the back neck. Sc evenly around the neckline, working a (ch 1, sk 1) button loop at the back if you’d like a button closure. Fasten off.

Daisies (Make 9)

Petals: With white yarn, make a magic ring. Ch 1, work 6 sc into the ring, join with sl st. (6 sc) For each petal: sl st into the next sc, ch 6, dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, sl st into the last ch, sl st into the base sc. Repeat for all 6 petals. Fasten off.

Center: With yellow yarn, make a magic ring, work 6 sc into the ring (6 sts), inc in each st (12 sts), sc one round, then dec around (6 sts). Stuff lightly, pull closed. Sew the yellow center onto the white petals.

Leaves (make 6): With sage green, ch 8. Sl st in 2nd ch, sc in next, hdc in next, dc in next 2, hdc in next, sc in last. Fasten off.

Sew 7 daisies evenly around the skirt just above the scalloped hem, tucking a leaf behind every other one. Sew the remaining 2 daisies on the yoke, one near each front raglan line.

Sophie’s Tips

  • Try the yoke on the baby (or a similar-sized stuffed stand-in) right after dividing for the sleeves — raglan fit is easy to adjust at that stage.
  • The openwork skirt grows when blocked, so measure length after blocking and add or remove a round if needed.
  • Make a couple of extra daisies. One always goes missing, and they’re too cute not to have spares.

May your little one’s twirl game be strong. Happy crocheting!
