The Pattern
Dress Bodice
With sea green, Ch 50. Row 1: DC in the 4th chain from the hook and in each chain across, Ch 2, turn. (48 DC) Rows 2–4: DC in each stitch across, Ch 2, turn. (48 DC) Row 5 (divide): Join in the round. Ch 2, DC in next 8, skip 12, DC in next 20, skip 12, DC in next 8, join. (36 DC)
Mermaid Scale Skirt
With lavender, Round 6: Ch 1, SC in the next stitch, Ch 3, skip 1, repeat around, join. Rounds 7–14: Slip stitch to Ch-3 space. SC in space, Ch 3, repeat around, join. This creates the scale effect. Round 15: SC in each stitch and space around, join. Fasten off.
Headband
With sea green, Ch 60. SC back. Sew a small starfish applique (lavender) to the front.
Sew buttons at the back. Weave in all ends.
